Chinese contemporary art is increasing in quality and quantity, a major figure in the international stage arts, a leading Italian art critic Achille Bonito Oliva is quoted. The Chinese artists today have a high degree of autonomy, which are compared and likened to the great masters of the West said Oliva.
Oliva has extensive experience and knowledge of contemporary art in China. He was the first to present abroad the movement of Chinese avant-garde art exhibition in Venice 1993 and since then has contact with the system of Chinese art promoted overseas. Oliva believes the that ” art is not a war but a coexistance of diversity. It penetrates through the Great Wall in positive ways”
There is increasing attention to Chinese artists of today who are accepted and submitted to museums and galleries in the West.
