Funny Sculptures from Art Stage

AiWeiwei:Eric So

Ai Weiwei, the famous artist and activist has joined forces with Hong kong artist Eric So to produce a series of sculptures for MAD, shown at the gallery’s stand at Art Stage. You can not avoid to smile when you see them as a resemblence of the person Ai Weiwei as a buddha figure, naked with references to the nude portrait that created such controversy some time ago. The work is titled “Aibodao” which translates to “Unloveable” in Chinese.

Ding Xi
China based galleries represented the second largest group in the gallery section, banking on the huge potential domestic market of Singapore. Chinese contemporary artist Ding Yi was represented by his well-known crosses paintings that has appreciated well on auctions during the last two years.
