Sotheby’s in HK Fall Auction

life01Sotheby’s will hold its Fall auction in HK for Modern and contemporary Asian Sale on October 5 and 6. Public exhibition starts from October 3.
What is revealed is that several masterpieces of unimpeachable quality also comes from the collection of Guy and Myriam Ullens de Schooten, who has been collecting Chinese Contemporary art since the 80’s. Sotheby’s states “honor to offer these works of great prominence, which presents an unprecedented opportunity for collectors to acquire such exceptional masterpieces”. Among the masterpieces from the 1990’s are Fang Lijun’s Series 2 no4 features a group of simply bald-headed figures, Zeng Fanzhi’s mask Series no 4 featuring 4 figures smartly dressed, are grouped in pairs with their arms draped across each other’s shoulders, walking on a beach.
Other prime works include Zhang Xiaogang’s Bloodline series: Big Family no 1 and Yue MinJun’s Happiness.
To see one great artwork is sufficient, but to view a sizeable collection of the best will take a connoisseur. Do not miss to view them if you happen to be in Hong Kong.
